Argo CMF6x9 – Aplanatic f/10.5 for 120 film, folding camera, tested and working, dating to circa 1939–1940 in good vintage condition.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and characterful CMF Argo, an Italian medium-format folding camera by Antonio Bencini from Milan.
The Argo appeared just before World War II and belongs to the early cameras from the period in which Bencini produced under the name CMF.
Designed for 120 roll film with 6×9 cm negatives and equipped with an Aplanatic f/10.5 lens with a simple CMF A3 shutter. The rotating folding viewfinder allows both horizontal and vertical framing.
Particularly attractive is the typical pre-war design with metal construction, black covering, chrome-plated hinges, and ARGO relief on the camera body.
The offered exemplar is in authentic vintage condition with clear signs of use and aging. See the photos for the exact condition.
Fun fact: the Argo originally appeared around 1939. During the war camera production was interrupted; after 1945 Bencini resumed production of, among others, the Argo.
