Description from the seller

Beautiful piviale with a magnificent stole. This liturgical choir cope is a hanging garment worn by clergy.

The choir hood has a closure at the center front and the hood trim at the back is finished with fringe around the shield. The piviale is heavily used and shows signs of wear.

This garment is worn by priests, deacons and subdeacons of the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church at certain ceremonies such as the liturgy of the hours, the Asperges me, during praise and at Eucharistic processions. The hood is roughly semicircular in shape.

The stole is richly adorned with beautiful embroidery and fringe.

The word "pluviale" comes from Latin and means "rain cloak". This illustrates how most liturgical vestments originated from everyday dress in the Roman Empire. In medieval Latin it was called a "cappa". The item is carefully packed and sent by registered mail. Photos complete this description.
