The Caucasian Kilim is a flat-weave rug (without pile) originating from the mountainous regions between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, including territories of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and southern Russia.
They are traditionally handwoven using high-quality wool (often for both warp and weft), spun by hand and dyed with natural plant-based dyes.
They stand out for bold geometric motifs, tribal symbols, and vibrant colors. Designs often include stars, diamonds, triangles, and stripes.
Predominant are saturated tones such as bright red, deep indigo blue, yellow, and cream.
