Description from the seller

The Lavenia Manufactory was the historic artistic division of the Italian Ceramic Society (S.C.I.) of Laveno, founded in 1856 on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The Lavenia brand, active mainly between the 1920s and the 1950s, marked the history of Italian ceramic design thanks to the work of great artists. The great architect and designer Guido Andloviz (Andlovitz), artistic director of S.C.I., designed many of the most famous lines and gave life to the dedicated artistic division Lavenia, comparable in importance to the role Gio Ponti had for Richard-Ginori. The decoration of red roosters, characterized by rust tones and gold refinements, is inspired by the designs used by the Richard Ginori manufactory. The motif was so popular as to be reproduced by other Italian ceramic excellences such as Lavenia. The ceramic piece measures 18 cm in length, 11 cm in height, and 7 cm in thickness. At the base, in addition to the S.C.I. printed mark (Società Ceramica Italiana), there is the name of the decorator and the Lavenia mark. Very rare object!!
