LARGE CHINESE RIDGE TILE FROM THE MING DYNASTY
Important statuette of a molded and glazed fine ceramic ridge tile depicting a warrior.
A rider dressed in a garment with wide sleeves, wearing a cap with ears.
He stands on his horse, looking forward. One hand rests on his hip, while the other is pressed against his chest.
Sancai-type glazed ceramic, in green, ochre, and black.
Ming Dynasty, 1368 to 1644 AD.
Height 33.7 cm - length 26.4 cm - Excellent condition - small chips
Provenance: France, M.B.D. study
