Description from the seller

Confused Gravitation is a distinctive work by Japanese photographer Yuriko Takagi, published by Bijutsu Shuppan in 1994 as part of the Contemporary Nude series.

Rather than presenting the nude simply as a study of the human body, Takagi explores the relationship between bodies, space and nature. The photographs bring together multiple figures in complex, sometimes almost sculptural compositions, creating a sense of movement and instability. Bodies appear to float, intertwine and merge with their surroundings, challenging the ordinary sense of gravity and physical orientation.

The title, Confused Gravitation, reflects this approach: the human body is presented as something that can move beyond its fixed relationship with the ground, creating a feeling of weightlessness and visual disorientation. The work developed through Takagi's encounters and collaborations with people in different environments, including Tokyo, Bali, Hawaii and London.

The project is an important example of Takagi's experimental approach to the body and contemporary photography, moving between portraiture, fashion, nude photography and fine art.
