Classic SAVONAROLA chair/armchair, also known as an X-frame chair, curule, or dantesque chair.
The chair has a decapé finish, obtained by first applying a greenish-sage paint, then “staining” with a lighter green paint and finally sanding the surface to reveal the underlying base.
The finish artificially recreates an antique, worn, lived-in look, highlighting especially the carved details of the backrest and the crossed slats of the frame.
Shaped backrest, carved with Renaissance motifs and a central coat of arms/decorative emblem.
Armrests end in spherical knobs with rings.

Classica sedia/poltroncina SAVONAROLA conosciuta anche come sedia a X, curule o dantesca.
La sedia ha una finitura decapata, ottenuta applicando prima una pittura verdastra/salvia,  quindi "sporcando" con vernice verde più chiara e infine carteggiando la superfice facendo affiorare il fondo sottostante.

La lavorazione ricrea artificialmente un aspetto antico, consumato e vissuto, evidenziando in particolar modo i dettagli intagliati dello schienale e le bacchette incrociate della struttura

Schienale sagomato, intagliato con motivi rinascimentali e uno stemma/decorazione centrale
Braccioli terminano con pomoli sferici con anelli.

Solid wood Savonarola chair, an X-frame, made in Italy and dating from circa 1950–1960, finished in green with a carved Renaissance-style backrest and crossed spindles, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains, and dimensions of 88 cm high, 67 cm wide, 52 cm deep, seating height 49 cm.
