Exceptional low, modernist sideboard designed by the famous Czech designer Jiří Jiroutek for the Interier Praha publisher in the 1960s. It was produced in 1966.

This piece is an absolute icon of the "Brussels Style", a movement born after the resounding success of the Czechoslovak pavilion at the 1958 World Expo in Brussels. This design is characterized by the boldness of its geometric lines, its functional minimalism, and its innovative use of color contrasts.

The furniture rests on an elegant compass-style pedestal typical of the era. The oak (or walnut) veneer structure beautifully frames the facade, creating a perfect graphic contrast, ideal for a contemporary interior, modernist setting, or a creative studio.

Condition report
Vintage piece in very good overall used condition. The cabinet has been fully cleaned and the wood nourished to reveal its superb original patina. The doors/drawers slide perfectly. A few light signs of wear normal for a piece over 60 years old, which attest to its authenticity and give it its unique charm. No major veneer loss.
