Description

Beautiful antique carafe attributed to the Scailmont Glassworks, Belgium, made of pale yellow-green pressed glass.

The carafe features a very beautiful molded relief decoration, composed of elongated lanceolate ribs and geometric/floral motifs in rosettes arranged around the body. The base is also worked with an elegant radiating pattern. The slender neck ends with a wide rounded lip.

An especially interesting feature of this piece is its spectacular green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, visible in the photographs. This reaction is characteristic of uranium glass, highly valued by collectors of antique glass.

The piece is presented without a stopper.
