Giant Apple-Shaped Ice Bucket – "Grande Modello" 30 cm – Aluminum – Italy – 1960s/1970s
Iconic and rare vintage apple-shaped ice bucket, made in Italy around the 1960s and 1970s.
This is the highly sought-after "Grande Modello" (XL size), a dramatic and imposing version (a full 30 cm tall) far rarer than the standard variants circulated at the time. Thanks to its diameter, it’s perfect not only for ice cubes but also for chilling and presenting a bottle of wine or champagne.
The bottom bears the engraved mark "MADE IN ITALY" with the characteristic concentric-ring finish of turned aluminum.
The item is presented in its fascinating original, unrestored condition, preserving its authentic patina of time. The outer aluminum shell shows slight clouding, small scratches, and minor dents due to age and use, testifying to its history (see detailed photos).
The true highlight is the white plastic inner tub, which is in perfect condition: completely intact, free from cracks, seams, or yellowing, ensuring perfect thermal performance of the piece. The fusion stem is also solid and well attached.
