Powder Box in 800 Silver, Repoussé and Chased, Late 19th Century

Round powder box, made in solid 800 silver, dating from the end of the 19th century. This piece exemplifies the excellent artisanal craftsmanship of the period, with rich all-around decoration.
The hinged lid is the true protagonist, adorned with a profusion of intricate foliate scrolls, stylized flowers and cartouche motifs that frame a central basket overflowing with flowers and fruit. This decoration is executed with repoussé and high-relief chasing techniques, creating a deep and tactile texture with a dynamic play of light and shadow. The details are sharp and well defined, a testimony to the silversmith's skill. A delicate lattice-incised band on a central strip adds a touch of geometric elegance.
The edge of the lid and the body of the box are decorated with a continuous floral and foliate garland motif, which echoes the central theme and frames the entire piece.
