Description from the seller

Zeh Scherzer Bavaria - 6-Person Lunch Service (19 Pieces) in Porcelain and Gilded Gold - Germany - Early 1950s
Description: Splendid, rich and refined 6-person lunch service in the finest German porcelain by Zeh Scherzer Bavaria, dating from the early 1950s. The service comprises a total of 19 pieces, including numerous and sought-after serving pieces. The set is distinguished by a delicate classical garland decoration, composed of bouquets of pink roses and green leaves. All profiles, rims and the rich details of the shaped handles are finished in gilded gold, applied entirely by brush by the master decorators of the era. The lot includes (19 pieces total):
6 Flat Plates: Diameter 25 cm | Height 3 cm
6 Deep Soup Plates: Diameter 25 cm | Height 4.5 cm
1 Large Soup tureen with lid: Height approx. 20 cm | Width (including handles) 36 cm | Weight: 1755 g
1 Fruit Stand / Centerpiece goblet: Diameter 23 cm | Height 12 cm
1 Circular Salad Bowl: Diameter 24 cm | Height 6 cm
1 Monolithic Sauce Boat: Single body with oval fused base to the cup. Base 26 x 14 cm | Maximum height 10 cm
3 Oval Serving Plates / Trays in scaled sizes: Large: 33.5 x 22.5 cm | Height 2.5 cm
Medium: 28 x 18.5 cm | Height 2.5 cm
Small: 23.5 x 13.5 cm | Height 3 cm

Marks: On the bottom of each individual piece is present the factory’s green underglaze mark (Zeh Scherzer with crown and italic script). The mark is accompanied by the hand-written gold numbers (146 and 306) which historically identify the master decorator and the reference pattern.

Conditions: 18 pieces (plates, tureen, stand, salad bowl, trays): In perfect, completely intact condition. The porcelain retains its original vitreous luster and the brush-painted gilding in 24-carat gold is bright, sharp and free of signs of wear. Sauce boat: structurally solid and stable, with no cracks or chips, shows a slight, superficial vertical thread-like marking of about 3 cm, visible both inside and outside the cup, which does not affect use. The decors and gold are beautifully preserved. (Please carefully view the detailed photographs for maximum transparency).

Given the volume and delicacy of the service, the lot will be shipped with reinforced professional packaging (divided into two separate boxes if necessary to ensure the pieces' safety).
