Seeburg Phoenix SMC2 Stern version from around 1980, a single item in very good physical condition and fully functional, weighing about 140 kg and set to free play with 160 selections, available for pickup in Turin, Italy.
Description from the seller
A rare Seeburg SMC2 "Phoenix", Stern version, from around 1980. It is one of the last jukeboxes of the Seeburg era. Seeburg introduced the Phoenix in 1979 but went bankrupt shortly after production began. Stern took over and continued production for a short time, so few examples were made and it rarely comes up for sale.
Highlights
Illuminated rotating mirror ball in the centre, casting reflections across the room. An icon of disco-era design.
Orange side columns with built-in speakers, typical of the Stern version.
160 selections, all 80 45-rpm records included. Numeric keypad and digital display.
Mechanism visible through the glass, so you can watch the arm pick up each record.
Originally made for the French market: the original price card still reads "Pièces de monnaie : 5 Francs ou 10 Francs". It was later used in Italy, where a 500-lire credit card was added.
Condition
Fully working and ready to use.
Set to free play, so it plays without coins.
Title strips restored.
Normal signs of age consistent with a machine of this period (see photos).
Dimensions: approx. 140 × 102 × 46 cm (H × W × D).
The music: ready-to-play "Dolce Vita" selection
A curated selection of Italian classics from the '50s and '60s, swing and Latin standards:
Sapore di sale, Quando quando quando, I Watussi, Luglio, Tua.
