Pair of French Napoléon III bronze candelabra in antique style, dating from 1850–1900, with gilt and patinated bronze finish, each featuring four branches and a removable central decorative flame.
Description from the seller
Pair of antique French candelabra from the Napoleonic III era, 19th century, in gilded and patinated bronze.
Each candelabrum has four candle-cup branches, with scroll arms and richly ornate decoration characteristic of the Second Empire.
The central upper element is topped with a finely wrought removable decorative flame. This can be removed to visually conceal the central location when the candelabrum is used with only the side branches.
The combination of gilded bronze and dark patinated bronze, along with foliated, scroll, and classical ornaments, gives the whole piece a particularly elegant presence.
Condition: antique condition with visible signs of wear and use, notably wear to the gilding and patina in places. These marks are consistent with the pieces’ age and contribute to their authentic character.
Dimensions:
* Height: 45 cm / 17.7 inches
* Span: 18 cm / 7.1 inches
* weight: 2400 grams each
