Baccarat - Vase - Crystal

An elegant Baccarat crystal vase with a striking urn-shaped silhouette. Its flared neck is decorated with elongated oval cuts, while a broad band of finely cut diamond points encircles the body. Deep vertical facets lead down to a short pedestal and substantial square foot, bringing light through the clear crystal.
The design is documented in the Baccarat catalogue of 1916. The underside bears the inscription “Musée des Cristalleries de Baccarat 1821–1840 Reproduction”, identifying this piece as a museum reproduction of a historical Baccarat design. The dates on the mark refer to the original period represented, rather than the production date of this vase.
A beautiful display piece with a rich contrast between its delicate upper cuts and densely textured centre. Signs of age and use are present, including wear and small chips to the square base, as shown in the photographs.
