French Art Deco glass plafonnier dating from 1920–1930, made from glass with a moulded and frosted finish, 37 cm diameter and 12 cm high, in good condition with signs of ageing and not in working order.
Description from the seller
French Art Deco moulded/frosted glass plafonnier, rose and foliage design, circa 1930, H 13.3 × Ø 37 cm, numbered to the rim; possibly Degué
Elegant French Art Deco ceiling light shade in moulded and frosted glass, beautifully decorated with a sculptural composition of blooming roses, leaves and flowing stems.
The design combines softly frosted surfaces with polished translucent details, creating a striking contrast when viewed in daylight and an especially attractive effect when illuminated. The deep bowl form and bold floral relief are characteristic of French decorative lighting from the Art Deco period.
The shade is moulded with a number near the rim, but no clearly readable maker’s signature is visible. The design is reminiscent of French glassmakers such as Degué and similar manufacturers active during the 1920s–1930s.
Dimensions: H 13.3 cm × Ø 37 cm
Material: Pressed/moulded frosted glass
Period: Circa 1925–1935
Origin: France
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related traces and some discoloration consistent with use; please study the photographs carefully.
A decorative and atmospheric original Art Deco plafonnier, ideal for a period interior or as a statement ceiling light.
