German-made chrome metal console table with two tempered glass shelves, designed by Peter Draenert, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Console or tall glass-and-chrome metal table with two shelves from the 1970s. The design is distinguished by a solid cantilever frame with clean geometric lines, completed by a transparent tempered glass upper and lower shelf, which impart a sense of extreme visual lightness. This kind of furniture perfectly embodies the fusion between the Bauhaus tradition and the postmodern trends of the second half of the 20th century.
Materials: Self-supporting slotted frame in curved metal with a mirror-chrome finish; two panes in transparent tempered glass with beveled edges flush with a glossy edge. The piece reflects the purist, rationalist design philosophy typical of German production signed Peter Draenert between the late 1960s and mid-1970s (famed for the Klassik 1022 series).
The design exploits the structural properties of metal and the interlocking of the shelves to achieve a floating, minimalist silhouette. The flat steel-band frame runs continuously, creating an extremely solid and geometric base.
The vertical configuration on a square plan (41×41 cm) at two levels allows use as an entry console, a designer plant stand, or a tall service table.
