Bronze incense burner in the shape of a lion representing a Luduan, dating to the late Ming Dynasty with early Kangxi period features, height 18.7 cm and length 13.4 cm, in good condition with a broken hinge, authentic and originally from Germany via Galerie H.T.A. and acquired in 2025 from France.

INCENSE BURNER - END OF THE MING PERIOD
Bronze incense burner in the shape of a lion.
End of the Ming Dynasty, beginning of the Kangxi period (1621 to 1722 AD).
This incense burner depicts a Luduan with a separated head, a legendary Chinese auspicious creature with the head of a lion, the horn of a rhinoceros, the body of a dragon, the paws of a bear, and the tail of an ox.
The Luduan wears a necklace with a gourd, and its body is adorned with scrolls and Ruyi motifs on the sides.
Height 18.7 cm - Length 13.4 cm
Very good condition, signs of wear, broken hinge
