Description from the seller
The vintage 1993 Alice in Wonderland Chess Set by MPL Gifts & Games is a character-driven thematic set where traditional chess roles are replaced by iconic Lewis Carroll figures.
The 32 detailed pieces are cream/white for one side and red for the opposing side based on the original illustrations by John Tenniel:
-King & Queen: Alice takes the role of the Queen, alongside the King (often depicted as the Red King or King of Hearts).
-Bishops: The Mad Hatter and the March Hare.
-Knights: The White Rabbit (complete with his trumpet/scroll) or the Walrus.
-Rooks (Castles): Humpty Dumpty sitting atop a brick wall structure.
-Pawns: Represented by Tweedledum and Tweedledee or standard card soldiers depending on the specific side.
With a standard 64-square folding cardboard game board. It features a simple design that folds in half or quarters to fit the box.
Each piece measures between 5cm to 7.5cm. Box 42cmX29cm
Condition: See all photographs as part of the condition. All pieces in good condition, wear to box and some stains to board/box.
