We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Konica Auto S (1963) was one of the first 35mm rangefinder cameras to offer shutter-priority automatic exposure, using a CdS meter cell placed around the lens so that readings automatically account for filters. Its fast Hexanon 47mm f/1.9 lens, from Konishiroku’s renowned optical works, is highly regarded, and the camera also allows full manual operation.
Important — please read carefully:
The auto-exposure meter overexposes in bright light (about 3.6 stops at EV15). Manual exposure is recommended.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws

Optical Condition
Lens: Clear — inner elements cleaned
Viewfinder: Cleaned inside
Functional
Shutter and aperture work in manual mode.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.3 OVER / EV15: 3.6 OVER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb — please read the Known Issues section and allow for them when shooting.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. The automatic exposure meter reads about 1.3 stops over at EV12 and about 3.6 stops over at EV15. Manual exposure with a separate meter is recommended.
