Alessi Yunoki Ware white porcelain dinner plates and bowls set, designed by Naoto Fukasawa and Samiro Yunoki, 16 pieces (eight Ø27 cm dinner plates and eight Ø20 cm bowls, heights 2 cm and 4.5 cm), Italy, 2020+, new and unused, dishwasher safe.
Description from the seller
This Alessi 'Yunoki Ware' set, comprising eight dinner plates and eight soup bowls, features a harmonious collaboration between the minimalist white porcelain of Naoto Fukasawa and the soulful, indigo-blue patterns of Samiro Yunoki.
This ''Itsumo'' collection, whose name in Japanese means "everyday and forever," represents a serene translation of Japanese culture to the set table. Naoto Fukasawa designed this porcelain tableware set with a focus on absolute simplicity, aiming for harmony between people, objects, and space. The most characteristic detail of the forms is the so-called "Donkaku," a subtle obtuse angle in the lines that is not only visually present but also invites one to touch and feel the objects with even the lightest touch.
This minimalist foundation received an additional poetic layer through a unique collaboration with the maestro Samiro Yunoki. Although he reached the venerable age of 101 in October 2023, this dyeing artist brought a vital energy to the project. Yunoki, who began his career inspired by "Mingei" Japanese folk crafts, decorated the white porcelain with hand-drawn patterns in a deep indigo blue.
The result is the "Yunoki Ware," where bold, almost smiling blue shapes blend with Fukasawa’s clean designs to create a heartwarming impression. These decorations are not intended as traditional ornamentation but as a soulful addition that suits a modern, diverse food culture where a wide variety of influences meet. The collection invites a personal approach, giving the user the freedom to mix the striking blue pieces with the pure white versions to create a truly personalized tableware solution.
