Description from the seller

Chinese Yixing Zisha Miniature Tea Pot with Pewter Dragon Overlay and Matching Tray – 20th Century

An elegant Chinese Yixing red clay tea pot accompanied by its matching presentation tray, beautifully decorated with applied openwork pewter overlays depicting traditional Chinese dragons and scrolling foliage.

The combination of unglazed Yixing (Zisha) stoneware with pewter mounts is a classic Chinese decorative technique, intended for both practical use and display. The dragon, an enduring symbol of power, prosperity and good fortune in Chinese culture, wraps gracefully around the body of the teapot, while matching openwork ornaments decorate the lid and tray.

The teapot retains its original impressed seal mark to the base. The matching tray is unmarked. The warm reddish-brown clay contrasts beautifully with the soft silvery patina of the pewter, creating an elegant and timeless appearance.

A refined decorative object for a tea ceremony, Asian interior, or collector of Chinese Yixing ware.

Dimensions

Teapot height: approx. 7.5 cm
Length (including spout): approx. 12.5 cm
Tray diameter: approx. 15 cm
