Great Neoclassical Table Lamp - France - 1940/1950 - Solid Brass - 72cm
Beautiful and imposing table lamp in a neoclassical style (also known as French Regency), dating from the 1940s-50s of the last century. This lamp is a textbook example of French craftsmanship, made in heavy, solid brass with a total weight of no less than 3.9 kg.
The lamp features an elegant vase-shaped stem resting on a robust, square base (pedestal). The base is equipped with the characteristic "ball feet" (bolstered feet), giving the lamp a stately look. The double top-fitting is fitted with the original brass pull chains, allowing the two light points to be operated independently.
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful, authentic patina on the brass. The original pagoda-shaped shade is still present and provides a warm, atmospheric light. The wiring is functional and the lamp is ready for immediate use.
