Iggy Pop

Loft Books/2017/Japanese/160*240*10
Action Portrait “Iggy Pop” is a collection of photographs by Japanese photographer Jin Sato. One of Jin Sato's best-known works is “Action Portrait GIG Tokyo Rockers 1978-1986,” which depicts the underground rock movement in Japan from the late 1970s through the 1980s. His depiction of the little-known Japanese rockers scene is still highly regarded today. In 2017, “Action Portrait ‘GIG’ Koenji Edition” was newly released, including previously unpublished works and containing the essence of “GIG,” and the exhibition held at the same time was a great success. This book is inspired by Iggy Pop, a member of the American rock band “The Stooges” and known for his extreme performances, who, in the 1970s, dreamed of creating an ideal book of photographs and created his own mock-ups. After showing him the mock-up, he decided to shoot with Iggy. The energy of both the artist and the photographer can be clearly felt in this book.
