Mephisto porcelain figurine designed by Karl Tutter for Lorenz Hutschenreuther in Germany, in the Art Deco style, dating to circa 1950–1960, about 18 cm tall and 150 g, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and small stains.

For sale: a beautiful and iconic porcelain statue of Mephisto (Mephistopheles), designed by the famous German-Austrian sculptor Karl Tutter for the renowned porcelain factory Lorenz Hutschenreuther (Selb, Bavaria). This refined figurine dates from the mid-20th century (circa the 1950s/60s) and is executed in an expressive design with deep black and fiery red glazes.
Designer: Karl Tutter (blind stamp/impressed signature "TUTTER" clearly visible on the base).
Manufacturer: Lorenz Hutschenreuther, Germany. Featuring the original green stamp "HR Germany" in a circle on the bottom, as well as the painter's mark (number 14) in red.
Size: This is the sought-after small version with a height of about 19 cm.
Condition: Magnificent.
