Antique brass jewellery/devotional box from Paris, dating to 1880–1910 in the Fin de Siècle historicist style.

Dating: 1880-1910 Fin de Siècle, Historicism.
On the lid is depicted Jeanne d'Arc, with her banner, sword, and French lilies on her garments.
In 1909 she was beatified. Canonization followed in 1920.
What makes the box special is the execution in a dense interwoven braid-work pattern.
The decorative corner pieces with acanthus leaves and the French lilies on the lid. Bun feet.
No marks, characteristic of the Parisian bronze and brass ateliers of that era.
Recently the interior lining has been professionally renewed with dark red velvet, thus clean and ready for immediate use. Free of aging odors.
