Cacciapuoti - Sculpture, Gatti - 15 cm - Silverplated - 1960

Beautiful sculpture of Persian cats, from the Cacciapuoti workshop, signed by the pupil Giuseppe Tagliariol, Tay workshop—sculptor and close collaborative pupil of the Cacciapuoti manufactory—on a base of black marble. The fragmented, vigorous scratching technique used to render the cats’ thick, billowy coat is Tay’s distinctive hallmark. The effect lends incredible dynamism and naturalistic realism, the author’s trademark. Period: 1960s/1970s.
