Heart's Gun by Anarchy
Anarchy
Hachiyousha/1981/Japanese/150*210*15
This book is a collection of works by Anarchy / 亜無亜危異, a rock band that dominated the Japanese punk rock scene from the 1970s to the 1980s. Influenced by punk bands such as the Sex Pistols and The Clash from England, Anarchy was formed by friends who grew up in Wako, Saitama Prefecture, and was as popular as Michiro Endo's “The Stalin,” who was active at the same time. The five members at that time were Shigeru Nakano (vocals), Shinichi Fujinuma (guitar), Yasunari Itsumi (guitar), Nobuyoshi Teraoka (bass), and Takao Kobayashi (drums), but the group broke up after a fight with Itsumi (aka Mari), after which it became “THE ROCK BAND” and has recently reformed and released new material. This book was published one year after their debut from Victor, with art direction by Makoto Oizumi and participation by Jugetsu Toi as Special Thanks. The photographs are by Kazutoshi Sumitomo, who has also photographed Toi's biker gang-related works. The illustration on the back cover is by Hiromasa Kato. The design, layout, illustrations, text, and photographic illustrations are all worth seeing and reading.
