Mettoy - Rolls-Royce - Wind-up tin car - 1940-1949 - United Kingdom

I am offering here an impressive Rolls-Royce limousine made of tinplate with a clockwork mechanism from the English company Mettoy in very good condition.
This splendid vehicle is about 36 cm long and shows only minor signs of wear. Apparently it has hardly been played with, if at all, because the lithography on the solid tin wheels is virtually unworn. The running clockwork is very well preserved and can still set the vehicle rolling without assistance. The driver figure and all fittings are present. No major damages visible, only age-related oxidation and bearing traces, as well as a slight dent in the roof. Also at the rear above the bumper a small chip in the litho. Manufacturing period around the 1940s. No original packaging!
