Description from the seller

Elegant English Silver-Plated Fish Serving Set in Original Presentation Case

A refined antique English fish serving set, dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period (circa 1885–1910). The set consists of a beautifully engraved fish serving knife and matching four-tine serving fork, both fitted with elegant fluted handles and preserved in their original fitted presentation case.

The knife blade is richly decorated with delicate floral bouquets and foliate motifs, while the fork features matching engraved decoration, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship associated with fine English silver-plated tableware from the end of the 19th century.

Originally intended for serving whole fish during formal dinners, this type of serving set formed part of the sophisticated dining etiquette of the Victorian era and was often supplied alongside complete fish cutlery services.

The set remains in good antique condition with light surface wear and fine scratches consistent with age and careful use. The silver plating is well preserved and presents beautifully. The original presentation case also remains in good condition with normal signs of age.

Dimensions

Knife: approx. 29 cm
Fish fork: approx. 22 cm
Presentation case: approx. 32.5 × 11 cm

A highly decorative antique serving set that combines elegance, craftsmanship and historical charm, making it equally suitable for collectors of English silver plate, Victorian tableware or refined dining accessories.
