Large vintage wooden wall clothes rack with hat shelf and 5 metal hooks – Mid-Century

A particularly beautiful and generously designed vintage wall coat rack, no less than 112 cm wide, made from warm reddish-brown wood and equipped with five elegant silver-colored metal coat hooks.

The design is beautifully balanced. At the bottom is the long wooden back panel with five evenly spaced hooks. Above it is a spacious open slatted shelf for hats, scarves, gloves, or other accessories. The shelf is supported by two sturdy, cleanly designed wooden consoles and extends at the top into a long raised cornice. This gives the coat rack a strong architectural and particularly well-groomed silhouette.

The combination of warm wood, a light slatted construction, and metal hooks sits perfectly within the European Mid-Century Modern interior of the 1950s and 1960s. Comparable Scandinavian and Danish wall coat racks from the 1960s were made with wooden or teak elements, a hat shelf, and five metal or chrome hooks. Specimens with exactly this functional combination are also placed by specialized vintage-design dealers in the 1960s.

No visible factory label or designer mark has been identified on this piece. A specific designer or manufacturer is therefore intentionally not attributed. The styling and construction, however, convincingly align with the Scandinavian-inspired Mid-Century garderobe furniture of the period.
