AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Vintage Mid-Century Modern side table – organic triangular top – three slim tapered legs – ca. 1950–1970
A particularly charming vintage side table from the middle of the 20th century, featuring an organically formed triangular top and three elegantly tapered wooden legs.
It is precisely this combination of an asymmetric, smoothly rounded form and a slender tripod construction that gives the table its distinctive Mid-Century Modern / Scandinavian appearance. Comparable side tables from the 1950s and 1960s were made with triangular or organically shaped tops, teak or teak veneer, and slanted tapered legs. A similar Dutch specimen on Catawiki is dated to the 1960s and described as an organically triangular teak veneer table with slim wooden legs. Also Scandinavian examples from the 1950s show the same combination of a rounded triangular top and three legs.
The top features a warm wood grain and is framed around by a darker reddish-brown rounded edge. The three slender legs slightly splay out, giving the piece a light, almost sculptural appearance. The form is playful without being fussy and thus fits excellently beside an armchair or sofa, but also as a plant stand, lamp table, or small accent piece.
No maker’s mark was found, so a specific designer or manufacturer cannot be determined with certainty. Based on design and construction, the table fits well within the European Mid-Century Modern vocabulary of circa 1950–1970.

Condition
Good authentic vintage condition with clear signs of use appropriate for age and use.
The top shows surface wear and localized fading/weathering of the finish, making the wood color appear lighter in some areas. Along the edge there are a few small knocks and damages, including a clearly visible spot on one edge.
The legs also show light scratches, spots, and normal signs of use. These age-related marks give the table a natural vintage look and are clearly shown in the detail photos.
User marks are visible in the photos. The photos are an important part of the condition description.
A atmospheric and particularly easy-to-place vintage table with a strong 50s/60s vibe. Especially the organic triangular shape and slender tripod construction make this an attractive piece for lovers of Mid-Century Modern, vintage and Scandinavian design.
