Mahogany coffee table by Heldense Refurn, with a dark green leather-inlaid top finished with gold embossing, drop leaves on both sides, a lyra-style frame, and drawers with brass fittings, dating to 1970–1980, in good used condition.
Description from the seller
This coffee table was made in the second half of the 20th century (likely between the 1970s and 1990s).
Although the design and details are fully based on the classical English Regency style from the early 19th century (circa 1810–1830), this is a so-called style piece.
The table was manufactured by a renowned quality manufacturer of classical furniture from that period, the Dutch brand Heldense Refurn. These items were at the time handcrafted with very high-quality materials — such as solid mahogany, real leather and gold embossing — produced to meet the large demand for a classic and chic interior appearance.
Key features:
• Top: An inlaid dark green leather top surface finished with an ornate gold embossing (blind stamp) along the edges.
• Wood type: Made from high-quality mahogany.
• The table has drop leaves on both sides, allowing the surface to be easily enlarged.
• Base: Elegant, lyre-shaped legs connected in the middle with a wooden cross rail (lyra- or stretcher-type base), ending in brass leg caps or swivel wheels.
• Storage: Equipped with drawers in the sideboard, finished with classic brass fittings.
Light signs of use as expected, visible in the photos.
