Tichelaar Makkum - Wall plate (2) - Pottery

Two beautiful finely painted wall plaques from Tichelaar of Makkum. The oldest ceramic baker in the Netherlands. Diameters of the plaques are, respectively, 28 cm and 24 cm. The 24 cm plaque is very finely painted (time-consuming!) and has gone through the typical Tichelaar firing process, where the blue color runs into the white tin glaze. This gives a beautifully glossy effect when illuminated.
