English oak secretaire / fall-front desk, ca. 1910–1930
Beautifully crafted antique English secretaire in dark oak wood, presumably dating from the first quarter of the 20th century.
The piece features a characteristic slanted writing flap with decorative wood carving. When opened, it reveals a spacious writing surface and the interior, equipped with various letter and document compartments and two small drawers with brass knobs.
Under the writing flap are two roomy drawers with richly profiled fronts, graceful woodcarving, and brass fittings. The secretaire sits on an open base with nicely turned and carved front feet and crosspieces.
The furniture is executed in a classic English style and has a beautiful authentic appearance thanks to the warm wood colour and natural signs of use.

Depth: approx. 47 cm
Condition: Good used condition appropriate to age and use. Visible signs of wear and patina, particularly on the writing surface and some edges. See photos for a good impression of condition. No visible factory mark or maker’s plate found.
