Large neoclassical sculpture signed A. Santini representing a charioteer driving a war chariot drawn by two prancing horses.
Description:
Superb and large decorative sculpture in alabaster resin / reconstituted marble in ivory tone, created after the Italian sculptor Amilcare Santini (Sculptures A. Santini - Italy).
The piece represents a quadriga / Roman chariot inspired by neoclassicism with a soldier in armor and helmet with plume leading two horses in full action. The reins are materialized by the original cord.
Artist / Atelier: Signed "A. Santini" in the mass on the base.
Material: Marble powder / alabaster agglomerated by resin (composite imitating marble or ivory).
Origin: Italy.
Era: Circa 1970–1980.
Finish: Beautiful ivory patina with shading effects in the hollows highlighting the relief.
Condition:
Very good vintage overall. The structure is solid and complete. Light signs of use and age-related superficial dust logical for its era.
