Console table - Marble, Wood

I propose an entry console with an original late 19th-century mirror (circa 1870-1890), a clear expression of the Napoleon III and Eclectic style of the period.

Main Features:

Materials and Finishes: The structure is crafted in elegant black ebony wood, finely enriched by a continuous band of inlay in precious mother-of-pearl (abalone) with iridescent reflections and delicate gilded filigrees.

Architecture and Details: The large upper mirror is framed by two imposing half-column pilasters, topped by elegant gilded Corinthian capitals. The lower part rests on four turned legs joined by a harmonious shaped connecting rail.

The Top: Finished with an original dark veined marble top (with cut and moulded apron) that creates a beautiful chromatic contrast with the black wood and the light of the mother-of-pearl.

The Mirrors: The console is enhanced by two mirrors (one main upper and one lower back mirror). Both are original to the period and show the characteristic sought-after oxidation bloom (mercury mirror), which certifies the piece’s authenticity and gives it that lived-in, romantic charm that only true antiques possess.

Condition:
The piece presents in good general condition. Being an antique object with over a century of history, it bears the physiological and normal signs of age (e.g., slight chipping at the base of the wooden frame and slight wear to the gilding on the columns), which do not compromise its stability or aesthetics.
