TOAREG wooden spoon titled TOEAREG HOUTEN LEPEL, a vintage Sahelian spoon from Niger dating to ca. 1960–1970, 28.5 cm long with a 7.5 cm scoop, 10.0 × 8.7 cm, 121 g, carved and branded with star and triangle patterns, used for serving millet porridge and milk and also known as a Tishaten spoon, in good used condition with small signs of aging.

Rare wooden SPOON from the Tuareg.
Ladle used for serving millet porridge and milk.
Niger, Mali, Senegal, Sahel.
Also called the Tishaten spoon.
Wood is scarce in the Sahel, therefore unique and rare.
Clean, distinctive and symbolic star and triangle patterns.
Carved with a knife and branded with hot iron.
Good used condition, with a small dry crack.
Weighs 121 grams.
Dimensions: length 28.5 cm, width at the top 7.5 cm.
Bowl is 10.0 x 8.7 cm, scoop depth 7.5 cm.
