We present a Beijing Aubusson Savonnerie Chinese rug, woven between 1960 and 1980, fully hand-knotted in wool and silk on cotton and signed by the master weaver.
This elegant piece belongs to the high-end Chinese Aubusson production, recognized for its extremely tight weave, fine and dense pile, and the generous use of silk in the decorative motifs, which gives it a characteristic golden sheen.
The rug features a compact and heavy construction, indicative of a high knot density and excellent material quality. The classic Savonnerie-inspired floral design is executed on a smooth surface (no pile), with silk details finely integrated into the wool.
Condition: very good.
No breaks or loose threads.
Only a small light stain in one corner (visible in photographs).
Professional cleaning by specialists in fine rugs is recommended to properly preserve the silk and dyes. It should not be cleaned by domestic cleaning methods.
