Description from the seller
Splendid and elegant antique table silverware service for 12 people, produced by the prestigious French Maison Christofle between the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century (Belle Époque period). The set is made in the famous Baguette model (historically also known as Uniplat or Fidelio), characterized by sober, timeless lines, perfect for both classical and contemporary tables.
The lot consists of a total of 25 pieces:
• 12 Large dining spoons (punched 6 with silver content 61 and six with 59)
• 12 Large dining forks (punched 6 with silver content 61 and 6 with 59)
• 1 Large serving/portage spoon
Details of authenticity and hallmarks:
Each piece bears on the back the official historic Christofle hallmark in use between 1844 and 1935: the scales with the initials C-C (Charles Christofle). The numbers impressed in the frames (61, 59) certify the grams of pure silver used for the standard plating of the lots, guaranteeing the highest quality of the Maison’s antique silverware.
The conditions are not among the best; in some areas the plating has faded, but without diminishing the charm of the era. Please look closely at the photos, they are also an integral part of the description.
