Val Saint Lambert - Champagne glass (6) - Crystal - cellar glass

6 hand-cut champagne glasses from the Val Saint-Lambert factory in white crystal from the 1940s-50s period, with the well-known olive and fan pattern, each glass weighs 150 g and they come from an inheritance.
From an inquiry with a former crystal polisher from Val Saint Lambert (still active today as well), this model is the so-called "Verre de Cave" — literally translated, cellar glasses.
In the postwar period, workers from Val Saint Lambert were offered the opportunity to buy crystal glasses, whether cut or not, each for 100 BEF per month, to compensate for the low wages; many a polisher had a small grinding setup at home and copied their own glasses on which he would then resell them, hence the designation.
The glasses are in optimal condition and are shipped securely and insured with Bpost.
