Lot of 14 Historical Postcards from the Belle Époque - Views of Paris and Versailles - Publisher Isidoro Risch - Circa 1900/1903
Splendid and rare homogeneous lot consisting of 14 original antique illustrated postcards (Belle Époque), printed in the very early years of the 20th century (circa 1900-1903). The series offers a fascinating iconographic journey through the most famous historical views, monuments and royal gardens of Paris, Versailles and Fontainebleau, faithfully reproducing famous French engravings and prints from the 17th and 18th centuries (dated on the front between 1674 and 1750). All postcards bear on the front the prestigious editorial mark of the Paris distributor: "Isidoro Risch, 34 Rue de Turenne - Importé". On all specimens there is also the legal copyright notice "Déposé".
Vintage perforated borders: The postcards feature the characteristic original jagged/frayed edges of this specific series, created to simulate the look of old archival parchment sheets.
Unsplit back from the era (Pre-1904): The back is of the type "unsplit", with horizontal lines intended solely for the name and address of the recipient, evidence that at the time any written text had to be placed on the front.
