AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful antique neo-Renaissance bronze/brass ink set with double inkpot and decorative reliefs. France, 19th century.

Atmospheric and richly detailed antique ink set (écritoire) from the late 19th century, made of bronze or brass with a fine patina.

The rectangular tray rests on delicate feet and features two ornate scroll-shaped handles on the sides. This magnificent piece is quite large (47 cm!) and contains two hinged inkpots placed on an elevated base with storage/penholder. The inkpots are decorated around with striking mascarons (grotesque faces/lion heads) and acanthus leaves, typical of the Neo-Renaissance.

The lids hinge properly and the piece is complete, including the removable original glass pots inside, which is quite rare.

A beautiful, practical, rich and decorative collectible that gives a classic, historic appearance to any desk or library interior.
