Lamp in Art Deco style: monkey with umbrella PLUIE signed Max Le Verrier.
Patinated metal on a marble base, matte-glass shade.
Design 1927.
Cast posthumously by the Le Verrier foundry in Paris.

History of this lamp Pluie:
It was for the cages of the Jardin des Plantes that Max LE VERRIER created his monkey with umbrella; his model was the three-year-old chimpanzee named BOUBOU.
A great friendship arose between the monkey and the artist.
BOUBOU, who was held outside the cage by the keeper, agreed to pose in exchange for bananas.
Moreover, every morning he looked toward the side of the entrance to wait for the one who would immortalize him.
This statue received a medal at the Salon des Humoristes in 1927.
