Rocking horse - 1950s Children's Rattan and Bamboo Rocking Horse Chair - 1950-1960

An organic, bohemian-style child’s nursery rocking chair sculpted in the form of a horse. Handcrafted entirely from bent bamboo framework and meticulously woven natural rattan wicker, the piece features a deeply contoured basket-style tub seat integrated onto curved rocker rails. The stylized horse head is formed from tightly wrapped wicker rods, complete with dual integrated handles and foot pegs for stabilization. A beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern children's furniture design, popular as both a functional playroom toy and a decorative boho chic styling prop. Excellent vintage condition with an intact weave structure, showing minor natural patination and surface wear consistent with age.
