Description from the seller
MALI. Lot of 2 coins. 5 and 10 Francs. 1961
- Value: 5 and 10 Francs.
- Year: 1961.
- Inscriptions:
5 Francs. Obverse: REPUBLIQUE DU MALI · 1961, depicting a traditional African mask. Reverse: 5 MALIAN FRANCS, with two crossed ears of grain.
10 Francs. Obverse: REPUBLIQUE DU MALI · 1961, with a horse head facing left. Reverse: 10 MALIAN FRANCS, with two ears of grain framing the denomination.
- Grade: MS64 (NGC) for the 5 Francs and MS65 (NGC) for the 10 Francs.
The lot consists of two coins, 5 and 10 Francs, issued in 1961 by the Republic of Mali, shortly after attaining full independence. The 5 Francs piece features a traditional African mask as its central motif, while the 10 Francs piece displays a stylized horse head, designs tied to the cultural identity of the new state. The reverses incorporate agricultural motifs with ears of grain accompanying their respective face values. Both specimens are in excellent condition, with sharp relief, satin-like surfaces, and abundant original luster, notably the 10 Francs piece for its high grade MS65 awarded by NGC.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
