Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Specimen: Rarity Conus nobilis orange, 33 mm, GEM, Misamis, Philippines, 1965; Scientific name Conus nobilis orange, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Scientific name: Conus nobilis Linnaeus, 1758 (colloquially: Noble Cone).
The distinctive feature (Orange Form): The classic form of Conus nobilis displays a pattern from chestnut brown to dark brown with white, tent-shaped triangles. A pronounced orange morph (often labeled as "Special Color" or color form) differs strongly from the standard and is deliberately sought by specialized collectors because of its warm, luminous aesthetics.
Size: 33 mm is an excellent and very attractive collector's size. Since the species can grow overall between 29 mm and 71 mm, your piece sits perfectly in the solid, fully developed mid-range for adult specimens.
Origin: Misamis, Mindanao, Philippines. The Philippines are worldwide regarded as the absolute epicenter for cone snail diversity. The waters around Misamis Province (Mindanao Sea) offer excellent sandy and coral-rich habitats from which colorfully outstanding local forms are documented again and again.
Quality level: GEM. A shell in flawless gemstone quality. With Conus nobilis this is particularly important, as the shell often shows fine axial growth lines, which in poorer qualities quickly lead to cracks or unattractive nicks on the delicate lip.
