AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful shell Hexaplex cichoreum, the common name “endywia murex,” is a medium-sized species of sea snail, a marine snail from the Muricidae family, the shells of murexes or rock snails. The short spire of the shell consists of eight to nine abdominal whorls, which with age become flattened and thick. They are transversely ridged. They show six to seven leaf-like varices, with the leaves raised and curved. The umbilicus is fairly large and deep. Its color is yellow-brown, often striped with a darker shade. The leaves are usually dark brown or blackish. The white, almost round aperture has a fairly long, open posterior siphonal canal, which gradually broadens, but is narrow and initially curves to the right. The lips are pink-tinged. Dimensions - 55/75/80 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
