Two monumental Napoleon III gilded bronze and red marble six-light candelabra from France, dating to the 19th century (c. 1840–1870), each featuring six lights and measuring 79 cm high, 41 cm wide and 41 cm deep, in good condition with signs of wear.
Description from the seller
An impressive pair of French Napoleon III candelabras with six light points, crafted in richly chased gilded bronze and finely veined red marble.
The candelabras stand no less than 79 cm tall and are characterized by a richly worked composition. The gracefully curved arms are decorated with acanthus leaves and rocaille elements, typical of the lavish decorative style of the Napoleon III period.
Especially striking are the glass bobèches, executed in textured glass and framed by finely worked gilded metal. The transparent glass provides a refined contrast to the richly decorated gilded bronze.
The red marble elements exhibit natural, lively veining and form a strong contrast with the warm gold color of the bronze.
Due to their generous dimensions, symmetrical design, and rich ornamentation, these candelabras convey a pronounced architectural and decorative appearance.
