Sea Snail Sea shell - S-615 LAMBIS SCORPIUS (No reserve price)

Beautiful Lambis scorpius shell, the common name being the scorpion shell or spider scorpion shell, is a species of large marine snail, a mollusk of the Strombidae family, the true shells. It is one of the most distinctive and decorative tropical shells. Its shape is elongated, spiral, with a prominently developed, broad terminal lip. On the edge of the lip there are long, curved projections resembling scorpion claws – from them the species gets its name. The coloration usually includes shades of brown, cream, yellow and white, often with darker spots and bands. The interior of the shell is lighter, pearly, sometimes pinkish. The shell is valued as a collectible and decorative object due to its striking shape. Dimensions - 30/65/155 mm. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
